ONE REASON PILATES CONTINUES TO GROW IN POPULARITY = ADAPTABILITY.
Pilates is a safe and effective exercise program for men and women of ALL ages and fitness levels. It is for anyone who needs to recover or prevent injury, optimize their athletic performance, or just wants to look and feel healthier.

Though Joseph Pilates’ original following was primarily made up of the professional dance community, it is now highly regarded among professional athletes across the board. Pro golfers, NBA and NFL players, and Olympians use Pilates to optimize their performance. Athletes can utilize Pilates for cross-training, or as a form of “pre-hab.” Pilates can also be adapted or fused with other exercise methods to target a specific discipline.

AT TPB, WE HAVE SEVERAL EFFECTIVE FUSION CLASSES TO CHOOSE FROM – READ BELOW TO FIND OUT WHAT EACH CLASS HAS TO OFFER!

BARREFIERCE BURN (BARRE AND REFORMER FUSION)

What is it?

Exclusive to the studio and conceived by dancer/choreographer Tracy Ramsay, BarreFierce is a fusion of Ballet Barre Conditioning with Cardio Pilates. The ballet-based movements will work the deep outward rotators and burn calories while improving your flexibility, and creating a long, lean dancer look!

Who should take this class?

Anyone looking for an intense, calorie burning and toning workout!

We’ll focus on muscle groups not usually targeted during a traditional Pilates workout – which makes Barre a great cross-training method. This class is perfect for aspiring dancers/gymnasts, former dancers, TPBers looking to improve flexibility, or anybody that’s ready to try something new and challenging. Are you ready for the TPBBurn?

What should I expect?

BarreFierce Burn begins with Matwork, combining Barre Conditioning and Dynamic Pilates to get you warm in minutes! Get ready to elevate the heart rate with repetitions, while simultaneously lengthening the muscles through dynamic stretching to prepare the body for an intense workout.

After the warm-up, we move to the Reformer, where we adapt Dance conditioning exercises to the machine. These exercises will take you through full range, half range, and isometric movements (pulses – get ready to feel the burn!). We work deep into the hard-to-reach muscles through intense repetitions. This high-energy, yet low-impact workout will create a lean, toned body and promises to challenge you to the core!

When is it?

9AM Tuesday mornings at TPB ***Prior Reformer experience required

BARREFIERCE MATWORK (FLOOR BARRE AND MAT FUSION)

What is it?

The perfect pre-cursor to BarreFierce Burn, BarreFierce Mat will prepare your body for a more advanced workout by strengthening the hard-to-reach muscles using Pilates and Floor Barre. The ballet-based movements will still work the deep outward rotators and burn calories, while offering the assist of the floor/props to build muscle strength and flexibility.

Who should take this class?

Anyone looking to improve flexibility, condition long and lean muscles, or burn calories. This is a great preparation for the more advanced BarreFierce Burn on the Reformer.

What should I expect?

Expect a full body workout, including aspects of traditional Pilates, Barre Conditioning, Stretch class, and Personal Training. We focus on corework, flexibility, and hamstrings/glutes for a lifted booty. Get ready to feel a burn🙂

When is it?

6PM on Mondays at TPB

BOOT CAMP PILATES (CIRCUIT TRAINING AND MAT)

What is it?

Get ready for total body experience. And we mean total, the class will include traditional matwork exercises (done at an aerobic fat-burning pace as recommended by Joseph Pilates himself!), body sculpting with free weights and bands and a restorative cool down. We incorporate a circuit training system, cycling through strength-training, cardio, and abdominal exercises. Tailored to various levels and backgrounds, Dynamic Pilates Matwork is like a personal training session, but in a small group format.

Who should take this class?

Boot Camp Pilates is the perfect cross-training option for anyone taking Reformer Pilates – it’s a great way to mix things up and work on stabilization in the body. The circuit training element allows for calorie and fat-burning, while the element of traditional Pilates keeps your form in check! We highly recommend previous Pilates or Intermediate fitness experience before jumping into this class.

When is it?

7PM Mondays at TPB ***Possible additional class times coming in 2017

HAPPY HOUR PILATES (MAT AND REFORMER FUSION)

What is it?

All levels are welcome to experience a challenging floor workout where your core is engaged, and your strength and flexibility will be enhanced. A variety of props, such as free weights, foam rollers, Therabands, Magic Circles and fitness balls will be introduced to vary the traditional matwork sequence of exercises as well as work on the Pilates Reformer and Springboard.

Who should take this class?

Happy Hour Pilates offers the benefits of BOTH Reformer and Mat workouts – utilize the resistance and target specific muscle groups on the machine. In the Matwork, build stability and work on form while creating your own resistance.

When is it?

Thursdays at 5PM at TPB ***Previous Reformer experience required
