This lovely lady is passionate about helping YOU find the smartest way to work for your body, and will help you find your mind-body connection with her focused energy and peaceful personality. We caught up with Leonie to get the inside scoop on her training style and fitness background!
How did you discover Pilates? How has it affected your life personally?
I got injured when I was 12, and my mom had me try Pilates so I could recover and get back to dancing. I didn’t really practice consistently until I was in college. Since my mother is no longer with me, it’s a good way to keep her alive. I’m also a people person, and it’s rewarding for me to see how Pilates helps others.
Why did you want to become a fitness professional?
I like how Pilates is a connection of the mind and body – I think it’s balanced and efficient.
What is your philosophy of training?
How has ballet influenced your Pilates practice?
I think ballet helped me train my body so I can understand how to fix something. It also gave me an appreciation for grace and control.
What are your greatest strengths?
I love what I do, so enthusiasm!
Healthy eating tips?
My favorite healthy fat is an avocado – I eat half of one for a mid morning snack. Keeps me full and less likely to crave things.
What is your biggest fitness inspiration?
My grandma. She walks 3 miles everyday carrying groceries. Move it or lose it I say!
We know you enjoy modeling in your spare time! Do you have any favorite fitness styles?
I totally love the one piece jumpsuits or “onesies”, I just got a new one I will be sporting soon. So comfortable.
What are your other hobbies and interests?
I am just now learning to play the piano; I love all types of music. I like hikes and spending time in nature. And I just bought a coloring book – it’s a great way to focus and relax at the same time.
